John and Edward Grimes aka Jedward are identical twins from Dublin, Ireland. Until recently Jedward were unknown, however after reaching bootcamp in series 6 of "The X-Factor" Jedward have become increasingly popular with the british public, entertaining in new ways with each weeks live shows. They now even sport their own name coupling "Jedward"

Jedward live with their mother Susan, father Brian and older brother Kevin and attend the Institute of Education. John is older than Edward by 10 minutes. Jedward started singing at the age of five.

There was controversy surrounding Jedward when they tried to sing over the other people in their group during the bootcamp auditions. Simon said that Jedward had put the people in their group at a disadvantage and as a result the other contestants were axed after Louis championed the twins.

In week 3, the studio audience heckled Jedward. Judge Louis Walsh, their mentor, confronted them by saying: "Boo all you bloody want. I don't like bullying."
